The 1000 Key English Words and
Idioms guide includes a list of the most frequently misspelled
words in alphabetical order. Practicing with this guide will
enable you to make fewer mistakes due to carelessness. As well,
this guide is an excellent resource for preparing for the TOEFL®
test. Included in this guide is a list of the most frequently
tested words on the TOEFL® test in the past ten years, arranged
according the number of times each word appears in the test.
Some words appear as many as eighteen times, and all have been
used at least three times. This is particularly valuable if you
have limited time.
The guide also includes a list
of idioms that may be encountered on the TOEFL®. Each idiom is
clearly defined and used in a sample sentence. Also included in
the guide is a list of paired words that have similar meanings
and are often replaced by one another in the TOEFL® exam.
Memorizing the two words together may help you to understand the
more difficult questions on the exam.
Finally, there is a list of
common English expressions used in daily conversation. Each
expression is used in a short conversation so you can become
familiar with how it is used.
With this essential ESL
vocabulary builder, your English skills will improve faster than
you imagined!
